Big trees, finished yards
Stump Grinding for Established Yards
Hudson Oaks earned its name. Plenty of yards here are built around native post oaks and live oaks that were growing long before the houses were, and when one of those trees finally comes down — storm damage, drought stress, or plain old age — it leaves a stump with a wide, knotted root flare.
That flare is why an oak stump is usually bigger than it looks from the street. We measure it at ground level, flare included, and grind below it so you don’t end up with a ring of hard roots poking through new sod next spring.
When we’re done, the chips are raked back into the hole or spread in your beds, whichever you prefer. If you’d rather have bare dirt to work with, haul off is available for an added fee.
Close quarters
Tight-Access Stump Removal in Hudson Oaks
In a neighborhood yard the stump is rarely out in the open. It’s usually wedged against something you’d like to keep. Our Barreto 30SG rolls through a standard backyard gate, and the chip guards go up before the wheel touches wood.
-
Stumps on the Fence Line
We grind right up to the fence and set guards so the chips land in your yard — not on the pickets or over on your neighbor’s side.
-
Stumps Near the House
A tree that grew close to the foundation leaves a stump close to it too. We keep the wheel clear of slab edges and siding and shield windows before we start.
-
Side-Gate Access
A standard-width gate is usually all the room we need. If yours is narrow or there are steps in the way, mention it when you call and we’ll tell you up front whether we can reach the stump.
-
Sprinklers and Buried Lines
Front-yard stumps tend to sit near sprinkler heads, and some sit near service lines. We check for irrigation before grinding deep and have utilities marked through Texas 811 when a stump is close.
Priced by the inch
Stump Grinding Cost in Hudson Oaks
Stump grinding here is priced by the total inches across all your stumps. There’s no extra charge for the drive — a stump here costs exactly what the same stump would anywhere else in Parker County.
Unusual access, rock around the base, or extra-hard wood can change the final number once we see it, and we’ll tell you before we start, not after. Use the calculator below for a ballpark in ten seconds.

Good questions
Hudson Oaks Stump Grinding FAQ
No. It’s inside our regular service area, so you pay the same by-the-inch price as anywhere in Parker or Palo Pinto County, with no trip charge.
Usually, yes. The Barreto 30SG fits through a standard backyard gate. If your gate is narrower than standard or there are steps or a steep slope in the way, tell us when you call and we’ll let you know up front whether we can reach it.
Grinding below the root flare removes the part of the stump that sends up most new growth. Live oaks can still push a few sprouts from roots farther out; mowing them down for a season usually wears them out.
The chips go back into the hole and settle over a few months. When the spot sinks, top it with a few inches of soil and seed or sod over it. If you want to plant right away, ask about haul off so you can fill the hole with topsoil instead.
